Van Fossan Theatre exterior

This year marks the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States, and Bloomfield College of Montclair State University is hosting a series of events that reflect on the past and look to the future. Bloomfield College Dean Theodorea Regina Berry will lead a four-part celebration that builds off the principles of the Declaration of Independence, addressing historical topics and exploring the foundational ideals and commitments of the American experience.

On January 21 we will kick off Bloomfield 250 honoring the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. with a lecture entitled “All Men Are Created Equal”. Our guest speaker Danielle M. Conway will engage the audience in thoughtful conversation examining the Declaration of Independence’s most iconic phrase and what it means for our evolving and diverse nation. Montclair State University students are invited to attend Bloomfield 250, honoring the spirit of freedom, liberty, and happiness in the context of the Bloomfield College community.
