For our 4th Annual Student Appreciation Week, celebrated October 6–10, we’re highlighting two Bloomfield Bears who go above and beyond — Dwayne Campbell and Illianna Boyce. Whether it’s helping classmates succeed or building creative connections across campus, they represent the very best of Bloomfield.
Meet The Students
Dwayne Campbell ’25
Hometown: Kingston, Jamaica
Major: Computer Science
Minors: Mathematics & Game Programming
As a math tutor and research assistant with Dr. Grace Cook, Dwayne brings curiosity and dependability to everything he does. After graduation, he hopes to turn his passion for coding and creativity into a career in video game programming.
Advice for new Bloomfield Students: Surround yourself with positive people. “Find people who encourage you and boost your morale to do your work and make new friends.”
“Dwayne has been a work study student for me for the last year. He’s helped with research, tutoring, and general office work. He always shows up on time and is super dependable. Illianna Boyce ’26
Hometown: Edison, New Jersey
Majors: Graphic Design & Business Marketing
A McNair Scholar with an eye for design and strategy, Illianna plans to pursue a master’s degree in graphic design and dreams of creating for a company like MoMA.
Advice for new Bloomfield Students: Go to campus events, even the ones at Montclair. “You never know who you’ll meet or reconnect with, and those connections can really shape your experience.”
