Bloomfield College’s Scott H. Kaplan ’02 Art Gallery Presents: “The King Has Spoken”

Bloomfield College of Montclair State University’s Scott H. Kaplan ’02 Art Gallery is proud to announce its fall exhibition, The King Has Spoken, opening on Thursday September 25, 2025 with a public reception.
The exhibition celebrates the voices of six male artists through deeply personal works that reflect identity, resilience and expression. Features artists include Kervin André, José Camacho ’91 (Montclair BA Fine Arts), Jo-El Lopez, Suliman Onque, Ron “Reap” Powell, and Levi Robinson.
Curated by Wanda Croudy, adjunct professor and director of the Scott H. Kaplan ’02 Art Gallery, the exhibit invites audiences to experience artwork that embodies what it means to speak one’s truth through visual storytelling.
The exhibition is generously supported by Marc and Ellen Kaplan and presented in partnership with Newark Arts.
“I am very excited to have the Scott H. Kaplan ’02 Art Gallery open to the public once again, especially as Bloomfield College of Montclair State University,” says Croudy. “This exhibition will feature several male artists who will display a variety of very personal work. I believe this exhibition will reflect each man – a King that has given his final word; has expressed himself completely and definitively. They have left it all on the canvas, as they say.”
