The First-Year Personal Coaching Program (FYPCP) is a component of the Total Residential Undergraduate Education (TRUE) designed to support first year resident students in their search and discovery of educational, personal, professional and social growth and advancement on and beyond the college campus. The focal point of the program will encourage and assist students in making healthier life choices and to seek greater levels of responsibility for life progression and success. The personal coaching experience will motivate students toward their educational/life goals by providing structure, support and feedback. It will encourage students to learn new behaviors and habits and even new ways of thinking. Personal coaching is an ongoing partnership between a coach (Resident Director) and a student for the purpose of fostering success skills on/off the college campus. Together, the student and coach will discuss and devise realistic action plans for establishing and accomplishing goals. The process is designed so that the student is supported and encouraged through-out the coaching process. The agenda is initiated by the student and focuses on the process of discovery and inquiry.
