This course examines the social correlates of health and illness (gender and sexuality, 'race,' ethnicity and social class), the structure of health care and the medical establishment,institutions of medial research and training, the pharmaceutical industry, government policies regarding disease control, public health, and health care practices.

Prerequisite Details: 

SOC 100, SOC 215 with a grade of C or better.
