INSTRUCTIONAL PLANNING AND ASSESSMENT FOR STUDENTS WITH LOW INCIDENCE DISABILITIES (GRAD)

This course provides students with research based methods and instructional strategies, as well as techniques to teach students with severe and multiple disabilities and autism within a variety of educational settings. Students develop the teaching skills required to plan for and institute positive intervention strategies. The emphasis of this course will be upon implementing the Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and using effective teaching strategies particular to students with significant disabilities and autism. Focus will be for students to design lesson plans, use task analyses for assessment and instruction, and practice instructional strategies based on applied behavior analysis principles.
