Guest Ticket Information
Guest tickets are required - Keepsake announcements will not be accepted as tickets for admission.
Each student on the official graduation list is entitled to receive up to five (5) guest tickets and keepsake announcements. The graduating student does not need a ticket. Students must complete and submit the Application for Guest Tickets, Keepsake Announcements and Cap/ Gown by Friday, April 25th. The application must be submitted to the Office of Academic Affairs (73 Oakland Avenue) in person, by email at Commencement@bloomfield.edu or by fax at 937-748-1671. Guest tickets, keepsake announcements and the cap/gown purchase ticket will be available for pick up in the Student Financial Services Office, Knox Hall, Thursday, May 1st to Monday, May 19th. Lost or stolen guest tickets will not be replaced. No additional guest tickets will be available. Please be sure that your guests have their tickets in their possession the morning of Commencement as you will not have an opportunity to meet up with them after you check in at College Hall.
If you are unable to pick up your guest tickets, keepsake announcements and cap/gown purchase ticket in person, you may have someone pick them up on your behalf. Follow these steps in order for Student Financial Services to release them:
Make a legible photocopy of your student ID card.
Write the following on the photocopy: “I authorize (insert the name of the person picking up your tickets) to pick up my Bloomfield College Commencement tickets.”
Sign and date the photocopy.
Instruct the person you authorized to pick up your tickets to bring their photo ID for verification.
Tickets are required for all guests 2 years and older. Children under the age of 2 are expected to sit on the lap of a parent or guardian. Special seating will be arranged for guests in wheelchairs with validated tickets (please see Guests in Wheelchairs).
Guest Seating: Guest check-in begins at 7:00 a.m. Each guest must present an admission ticket in exchange for an admission wristband which will allow them access to guest seating on the Quad. Check-in tables will be located near the main parking lot on Liberty Street, behind Clee Hall on Austin Place, and near Seibert Hall on Liberty Street. Seating on the Quad is on a first-come, first served basis beginning at 8:00 a.m. Please note that guests must check in before lining up for guest seating. This is an outdoor event that will be held rain or shine. No strollers, carriages, carriers or any other equipment for transporting babies or toddlers will be allowed on the Quad. This is a safety issue.
Overflow Space and Additional Viewing Options: Guests without tickets are welcome to view the ceremony in Van Fossan Theatre. Space is available on a first-come, first-served basis and admission to the Theatre will be capped when we reach maximum capacity for the space. Guest seating will begin at 8 a.m. We will also show a live webcast of the ceremony at www.bloomfield.edu/academics/commencement/live-stream. The live link will appear thirty minutes prior to the ceremony.
Guests in Wheelchairs: Validated tickets required. Seating for guests in wheelchairs will be available in a reserved section under the tent. Due to limited space, the reserved seating area is restricted to the person in the wheelchair and one guest. Additional members of your party should sit in the general seating area.
Graduating students requiring seating for guests in wheelchairs should indicate same on the Application for Guest Tickets, Keepsake Announcements and Cap/Gown. After receiving your tickets, bring two tickets to be validated for wheelchair seating to the Office of Academic Affairs (73 Oakland Avenue) Thursday, May 1st through Monday, May 19th.
Please note: Total number of tickets, including validated tickets for guests in wheelchairs, will not exceed five (5).
