Bachelor of Science Degree
Rooted in the concept of “love of wisdom,” philosophy as a subject
explores a range of ideas. As a philosophy major at Bloomfield College,
you will study contemporary moral issues (how does one think about
and define “right” and “wrong”?). You will examine social and political
philosophy, business ethics and biomedical ethics. You will grapple with
questions that have puzzled thinkers for centuries. You will learn to
examine ideas from all sides and develop opinions based on logic and
reason. In doing so, you will acquire the skills that are so critical to
today’s business, government, legal and scientific arenas.
