Bachelor of Science Degree

Because an understanding of chemistry is essential to virtually every field of science, technology and medicine, chemists enjoy a very broad range of fascinating career options, including medicine and genetic, pharmaceutical and commercial research. Chemistry majors select one of two concentrations:

General Chemistry
What you'll study - General, organic and physical chemistry; general biology; microbiology; biochemistry; calculus
Career Paths - Medicine,medical and industrial research, education
Biochemistry
What you'll study - General, organic, inorganic and physical chemistry; calculus
Career Paths - Medicine, pharmaceutical and medical research, education

Both tracks also provide strong preparation for students wishing to attend graduate school.
