Bloomfield College is pleased to announce three transfer articulation agreements with Brookdale Community College.

Effective September 2016, Brookdale College students earning their associate degrees in Music Technology, Digital Animation and 3D Design, or Education (early childhood option), will be able to seamlessly transfer to Bloomfield College.

"Our partnership with Brookdale Community College began 11 years ago with a general articulation agreement," said Dr. Carolyn Spies, Associate VP for Academic Affairs at Bloomfield College.  "We are excited about the new agreements and eager to welcome Brookdale students into these programs."

For students who earn an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Music Technology at Brookdale, this partnership, upon completing a formal application, will grant them admission to the Bachelor of Arts in Creative Arts & Technology with a concentration in Music Technology program at Bloomfield College.

For students who earn an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Digital Animation and 3D design at Brookdale, this partnership, upon completing a formal application, will grant them admission to the Bachelor of Arts in Creative Arts & Technology with Concentration in Animation (2-D and 3-D) at Bloomfield College.

Students applying for the B.A. in Creative Arts and Technology in both the Music Technology or Animation concentrations must have a grade point average of 2.3 or higher, submit an essay describing their creative work and aspirations, provide a portfolio, and meet with the discipline coordinator for portfolio review.

Students who earn an Associate of Arts in Education (early childhood option) at Brookdale can connect to the Bachelor of Arts in Education/Early Childhood and Elementary Education or Special Education with Early Childhood or Elementary Education (EDC) at Bloomfield College.

Education students would be admitted to Bloomfield College in junior standing upon submitting an application with General Education requirements considered completed. A minimum 3.0 grade point is required and students must have earned a "C" or better in Math and Writing courses and all Education courses, as well as have attained the minimum score set by the NJ Department of Education on the PRAXIS Core Academic Skills Battery for Educators, SAT/ACT exam, or GRE.

Students must fulfill the same requirements for the B.A. degree as specified in the Bloomfield College regulations at the time of their admission, including General Education, major requirements, and electives.

"These agreements will help ensure a smooth transition from associate degree to bachelor's degree," said Dr. Spies.  "Special thanks to Ann Tickner Jankowski, Director of Transfer Resources and Articulation at Brookdale, with whom we worked very closely to connect faculty and make the agreements a reality."
